Senegal to launche project on measuring air quality

Dakar, Senegal (IINA) - The Republic of Senegal, on Friday, launched a project to measure air quality and to promote prevention of non-communicable respiratory diseases, Saharamedias reported.
Senegali local newspapers pointed out that ”Sher-Paul” is a project that will be on-going for three years, and it will be based on scientific research aiming at increasing awareness about air pollution in urban areas, as well as how it can affect non-communicable respiratory diseases.
The local newspapers also noted that the project aims to exploit the scientific data to develop and improve air quality policies.
The World Health Organization (WHO) reported recently that around seven million people killed in a year due to air pollutionas.
