Astronomically, Eid Al-Adha on 23rd of September

Al-Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (IINA) - Al-Sharjah Department of Culture and Information in the UAE, reported in a statement, that according to astronomical calculations done recently, Eid Al-Adha will start on the 23rd of September, as the moon of Dhu Al-Hijjah, the last month in the lunar calendar, is expected to be sighted on the 13th of September, Emirates 24/7 News reported.
“The moon of the Islamic month Dhu Al-Qidah took shape on 14th of August, and became a full moon on 16th, which was the start of 11th lunar month”, said Ibrahim Al-Jarwan, Planetarium Manager at Al-Sharjah Department of Culture and Information.
Al-Jarwan continued, “This means that Dhu Al-Hijjah’s moon will be seen on the 13th of September and Eid Al-Adha will be on the 23rd”.
