Bangui, Central African Republic (IINA) - Gendarmerie forces in Bangui reported, on Thursday, that sectarian violence has led to the deaths of 10 people and the injury of 5 others.
A local official said, “ The incident was sparked after Christian anti-balaka militias killed a Muslim man near the town of Bambari, which in turn led to reprisals in several neighborhoods in the city resulted in 10 deaths and 5 wounded.”
Eyewitnesses reported, “Many residents fled to sites for dislodged, and tension is prevailing in the current situations."
They added that the overthrowing of former president Francois Bozize in March 2013, has created the most dire crisis since its independence on 1960.
Muslims during last years have suffered from killing, discrimination and displacement based on sectarian violence.
