Doha (IINA) – Qatar Armed Forces signed on Sunday a contract with the Italian company Selex ES, which has a distinctive experience in command, control and radar systems, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
Minister of State for Defense Affairs Major General Hamad bin Ali Al Attiyah held a meeting with the Italian Defense Minister Roberta Pinotti, during which the contract was signed in the presence of Chief of Staff for the Qatar Armed Forces Major General Ghanim bin Shaheen Al Ghanim, and Italian Ambassador to Qatar Guido De Sanctis.
Under this contract, Selex ES is to supply Qatar armed forces with air traffic control and defense systems to monitor the airspace of the State.
The two sides discussed, during the meeting, the bilateral relations between the two countries and areas of strengthening the mutual cooperation.
