Jeddah (IINA) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) called on its member states and their humanitarian organizations to hold the activities they deem appropriate to raise awareness of the issues and needs of orphans on the occasion of the Day of Orphans in the Muslim world, which falls on Ramadan 15.
It may be mentioned here that the 40th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers held in Conakry, Republic of Guinea, on 9-11 December 2013 adopted, proceeding from the principle of Islamic solidarity, a resolution that stipulated that 15 Ramadan of every year was designated as a Day of Orphans in the Muslim world, with the view to raise awareness of the orphans' issues and needs.
