Toronto, (IINA) - The State of Kuwait has donated recently around one million Canadian dollars (approximately US$807,000) for the construction of an Islamic centre in Toronto, BNA reported citing Kuwaiti Ambassador to Canada Hussein Al-Sammak, KUNA reported.
Al-Sammak said that the Kuwaiti diplomatic mission handed over the donated sum to Alfajr Institute of Islamic Sciences in Toronto to build the centre, due to be named "the State of Kuwait Educational Center."
The centre, aimed at serving the Muslim community in Ontario, will include a religious faculty, a large library and a prayer hall.
Ambassador Al-Sammak affirmed to KUNA that the Kuwaiti aid is in line with the State policy of promoting true Islam, free from distortions and deviated ideas.
Alfajr Institute is a non-profit organization that holds courses for teaching Islamic sciences.
