Khartoum (IINA) – Upon the invitation of the Sudan’s National Elections Committee, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) dispatched a team of observers from the General Secretariat to monitor the general elections in the Sudan, which was held on April 13-16.
The team members conducted extensive field visits to many polling stations, and monitored all voting stages, which took place in a peaceful environment, free from any violations and breaches that could affect the progress and results of the election process.
The OIC expressed its hope that a president of the Republic would be elected in accordance with the will of the people, and that a Parliament representing the entire Sudanese people would be constituted in order to realize their aspirations for construction and stability.
