Manama (IINA) – Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa received Wednesday Yemeni Vice President and Prime Minister Khalid Mahfoudh Bahah, who is currently on visit to the Gulf state, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.
During the meeting, King Hamad reiterated Bahrain’s support to the legitimate government, led by President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, wishing Yemen to regain its security and stability and preserve its national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
For his part, Bahah conveyed greetings to King Hamad from President Hadi, who hailed Bahrain’s honorable stance in support of legitimacy in Yemen and wished Bahrain and its people further progress and prosperity.
King Hamad said that the “Operation Decisive Storm had achieved its desired goals,” adding that Bahrain, in cooperation with brotherly countries, will not hesitate to back the legitimate leadership at this important phase of Yemen’s history.
He explained that the "Restoration of Hope" operation would contribute to putting Yemen on the right track by resuming the political process on the basis of the UN Security Council resolutions, the GCC initiative and the outcome of the comprehensive national dialogue.
The two sides discussed the latest developments in Yemen and the efforts to dispatch relief aid to all Yemeni governorates in coordination and cooperation with regional and international humanitarian organizations.
