Cairo (IINA) – Two Egyptians were killed and 24 policemen wounded when a suicide bomber targeted a security forces building in al-Arish area, North Sinai early on Tuesday morning.

A security source said, "The attack happened when the security forces were searching for a vehicle, reported to be stolen from al-Sheikh Zuid water facility”.

"The bomber, who was driving an explosive-laden water tanker at a high speed, tried to enter into the building from the rear gate, in order to cause the largest number of deaths, but as the vehicle approached, police fired on it, detonating the explosives inside,” the source said. It added that the attacker and a civilian, who had been passing by chance, were killed and 24 policemen were injured in the incident.
