Wednesday 18 Feb 2015 - 12:03 Makkah mean time-29-4-1436 Tower destroyed by Israel/ Gaza City/ Ma'an/Image Gaza City (IINA) – Palestinian Minister of Public Works and Housing Mufid al-Hasayna said Tuesday that the ministry has laid a cornerstone for the reconstruction of a residential tower block in Gaza City, Ma'an reported. Al-Hasayneh said: "The rebuilding of this tower is a significant event and is the start of the rebuilding of all towers destroyed during the war". "The ministry is continuing its efforts to distribute financial aid to people whose houses were partially damaged, and hand out mobile homes and construction materials," he added. Several multistory residential buildings in Gaza City were targeted by Israeli forces during the war, killing dozens of civilians. The Israeli 50-day war on the Gaza Strip last summer killed over 2,200 Palestinians, mostly civilians and some 100,000 people, whose homes were destroyed or damaged, remain displaced. AB/IINA
