Monday 16 Feb 2015 - 11:10 Makkah mean time-27-4-1436 More than 4,000 US troops headed to Kuwait possibly to fight IS group ,reported Fort Carson, Colorado US (IINA) - A brigade of more than 4,000 soldiers from Fort Carson, Colorado, prepared on Thursday to leave for Kuwait, where they will be deployed to create the largest U.S. ground force currently in the Middle East, news agencies reported. The Fort Carson soldiers could be the first into battle if a major combat force is used to fight the IS group, according to The Gazette. The deployment follows U.S. President Barack Obama's announcement that he has formally asked on Wednesday Congress for permission to engage military forces against the ISIS group. Obama said the authorization to use military force draft bill he sent to Congress would not "call for the deployment of U.S. ground combat forces to Iraq or Syria." The brigade which will be deployed and equipped with Tanks and Bradley Fighting Vehicles has been training for more than a year and many of the soldiers are veterans of the Iraq war. Colonel Greg Sierra, the brigade's commander, said, “The soldiers received training for humanitarian relief missions and for constant combat.” SM/IINA
