Monday 16 Feb 2015 - 12:15 Makkah mean time-27-4-1436 Calls for donations in honour of the murder of three young US Muslims (Google image) North Carolina, US (IINA) - Activists are calling on people around the world to donate to charity in the wake of the murder of three young US Muslims in Chapel Hill, North Carolina last week, The Independent newspaper reported. Abed Ayoub, the legal director of the American-Arab Discrimination Centre, led calls last week for people to donate to the memory of Deah Barakat, who was killed in his family home alongside his wife Yusor Muhammad Abu-Salha, and her sister Razan Muhammad Abu-Salha. Barakat had set up a fundraising page before he died that was raising money to provide dental care to Syrian children made refugees by the country’s civil war. The 23-year-old dental student before his death had been due to travel to Turkey with a team of faculty members from the University of North Carolina this summer. “Your charity and humanitarian efforts will live on beyond your lifetime, and I hope that brings some comfort to your family,” wrote one person on the page set up by Barakat.
