Saudi Arabia pays rich tribute to Prince Saud Al-Faisal

Riyadh, (IINA) - Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman graced the international conference to commemorate and honor the late Prince Saud Al-Faisal for his indelible imprint on international scene as a far-sighted foreign minister and as a beloved prince for his distinguished service to the nation, Arab News reported.
The ceremony was held at the King Abdulaziz International Convention Center amid tight security. The three-day mega event, which opened on Sunday night, is being organized by the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies (KFCRIS) with the participation of a number of princes, ministers, politicians, a number of senior officials, and intellectuals from inside and outside the Kingdom. The KFCRIS is led by Prince Turki Al-Faisal.
King Salman watched a documentary on the life of Prince Saud. He also received a gift from the sons and daughters of the late King Faisal.
The king also viewed a film on the services of the late prince for Islam and five kings of Saudi Arabia.
Prince Mohammed Al-Faisal recalled services of Prince Saud at the helm of the Foreign Ministry for four decades. He expressed thanks and gratitude to King Salman for attending and patronizing the conference.
He said the attendance of the king reflected the keenness of the country’s wise leadership to honor sons of the motherland who had rendered outstanding service to the Kingdom in all fields. He also paid tribute to the rest of attendees, including King Juan Carlos of Spain.
Makkah Governor Prince Khaled Al-Faisal also paid rich tribute to late Prince Saud, citing his good deeds, childhood stories, history and achievements.
He gave an account on the strong bond between him and his late brother.
The international conference is part of KFCRIS’ efforts to recall the achievements of the Kingdom’s sons in general and to shed light on the life of Prince Saud Al-Faisal and his enormous efforts in Saudi diplomacy and achievements for the best interest of the Kingdom.
Two documentaries shown hit an instant chord with the audience. One of them had a poem explaining the career of the seasoned diplomat.
