OIC to hold emergency meeting Tuesday to discuss Israeli claims over Syrian Golan

OIC headquarters, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Jeddah (IINA) – The Executive Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will convene an extraordinary meeting at the level of permanent representatives , at its headquarters in Jeddah on Tuesday, to discuss the Israeli escalation against the occupied Syrian Golan.
The meeting is being held at the request of the State of Kuwait, which holds the rotating chair of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, to take a unified and strong position by the OIC member states on the Israeli government’s meeting that was held in the occupied Syrian Golan and the remarks by Israel’s prime minister that “the Golan Heights will forever remain under Israeli sovereignty”.
The OIC considered these provoking acts by the Israeli government as a serious escalation and flagrant violation of the resolutions of international legitimacy and International Law.
