Oman inaugurates Islamic Art Exhibition

Muscat, (IINA) - The Islamic Art Exhibition in Oman was opened on Tuesday at the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in the governorate of Muscat under the patronage of Sheikh Hamad Al-Ma'amari, undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture for Cultural Affairs, ONA reported.
The exhibition, which lasts until Thursday, is organized by the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, and it marks the occasion of celebrating Nizwa, capital of Islamic Culture for 2015. 
The exhibition includes photos for mosques, Omani minarets, Quranic manuscripts, towers, castles, houses, wooden and metal handicrafts, jewelry, and weapons ornament. Each photo will have Arabic and English descriptions of it.
Sheikh Al-Ma'amari said that the exhibition coincides with the Sultanate's celebrations of the 45th Glorious National Day, as well as celebrating Nizwa the Capital of Islamic Culture 2015.
He added that the exhibition depicts many values and Islamic art that highlights the Omani rich heritage in the Islamic art whether in the Holy Quran, mosques and minarets.
