Madrid, (IINA) - Morocco and Spain signed here on Friday a joint action plan on tourism cooperation for 2015-2017, on the sidelines of the 11th Moroccan-Spanish high joint committee, Morocco World News reported.
Inked by Moroccan Tourism Minister Lahcen Haddad and Spanish Minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism José Manuel Soria this plan is devised to develop the two countries’ economic and tourist potential through cooperation on investment, tourist inflows and products promotion and sharing expertize on management, marketing, coordination and training, in addition to the development of partnership between Morocco’s tourism office (ONMT) and Spanish institute Turespana.
The plan, which comes in implementation of the 2009 tourism cooperation memorandum inked in Rabat, touches also on the sharing of statistics and information on tourism, as well as expertize on systems of data collection, reporting and analysis.
The plan aims also to reinforce partnerships on human resources training in the tourism sector, mainly via training, partnership and twinning projects between the two countries’ hotel and tourism institutions.
