Opening 6th session of Somali Parliament

Mogadishu (IINA) – Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud has revealed that the al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabaab movement fighters are plotting to carry out massive attacks in different locations in the Somali capital and other cities.
In his speech at the opening of the sixth session of the Somali parliament in Mogadishu, Mohamoud Sheikh said: "The al-Shabaab movement, which was defeated by the Somali National Army and the African Union peacekeepers, is planning to carry out terrorist attacks and bombings in public places in the capital Mogadishu and other cities”.
He added that the insurgent group seeks to terrorize the civilian population and undermine the efforts of the Federal Government for reconstruction and formulation of laws that would set up well-structured regional governments, as well as for the development of the country's economy.
