Sunday 08 Mar 2015 - 13:06 Makkah mean time-17-5-1436 Multiple bomb blast in Maiduguri (wn.com/image) Abuja (IINA) – At least 50 people were killed on Saturday in three suspected Boko Haram suicide bombings in the city of Maiduguri in north-eastern Nigeria, according to Media reports.
Boko Haram has yet to claim responsibility for the attacks but they bore the hallmarks of the militant group, which has used suicide bombers before.
The first blast was carried out when the driver of a rickshaw detonated a bomb at the city’s Baga fish market. Another blast hit the busy Monday market shortly afterwards. A car bomb exploded later at the Borno Express bus station.
Officials at Borno Specialists Hospital said that 50 dead bodies and 36 wounded were received from the blast scenes, affirming that the number of the injured people was well above 36 as more had been taken to two other hospitals.
