Ramallah (IINA) – A mosque in the West Bank was burned overnight in a possible attack by extremist Israeli settlers, Palestinian officials said on Wednesday.

The first floor of the mosque in the village of al-Mughayir, near Ramallah was set on fire, causing extensive damage to the carpets and structure.

“The settlers set fire to the whole of the first floor of the mosque” in the village of al-Mughayir, near the Shilo Jewish settlement,” the officials said.

It was the second time the mosque had been attacked, after a similar blaze in 2012, the officials added.
