Tuesday 11 Nov 2014 - 13:00 Makkah mean time-18-1-1436 Manila (IINA) – The Philippines' anti-narcotics agency on Tuesday destroyed US$50.13 million worth of illegal drugs, Xinhua news agency reported.
Director General of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Arturo Cacdac Jr. said all the confiscated drugs weighed 559 kilograms were destroyed through thermal decomposition in a facility in northern Philippine province of Cavite.
“Today’s destruction is the highest in terms of total value and gross weight of dangerous drugs destroyed since the country’s shabu haul of over 700 kilograms in May 2008,” Cacdac added.
