Bangui (IINA) – A delegation from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) led by Minister Cheikh Tidiane Gadio, the OIC special envoy for Central African Republic (CAR), attended, on behalf of OIC Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani, the swearing in ceremony of CAR's new President Prof. Faustin Archange Touadera.
The ceremony took place here last Wednesday, with the presence of several African heads of state, governments and foreign ministers as well as many foreign dignitaries who attended to demonstrate their support to the newly democratically elected president, and to the people of CAR who went through very difficult times over the past three years.
During his meeting with President Touadera, the special envoy seized the opportunity to convey the OIC chief's congratulations and reiterated the willingness of the pan-Islamic Organization to support CAR under its new leadership to usher in national reconciliation, peace and socio-economic development nationwide for the benefit of all CAR citizens irrespective of their origin and religious backgrounds.
