Alberta, (IINA) - An Alberta rapper is hoping his video condemning Islamophobia will change how people may think about Muslims, iNews880 reported.
Since the Brussels bombings, the video titled “They Are Not Me” has been watched by over two million times and shared thousands of times on Facebook.
It was written and performed by Calgary’s Bejaan Lelani after the attacks on Paris. But the video gained new momentum after the bombings in Brussels.
“It’s been really great with how many people it’s reached” he says, “and hopefully, how many minds it’s changed.”
He says it’s all about offering a different point of view.
“If that video reached one person, and changed one person’s mind,” he says, “or offered a new perspective to someone about how they see the world, than it was successful.”
