Washington, (IINA) - The leaders of Turkey and the U.S discussed bilateral cooperation and regional security on Thursday at a meeting following a dinner pior to kick off the Nuclear Security Summit, Anadolu Agency reported.
The White House meeting on the sidelines of the two-day Nuclear Security Summit also addressed counterterrorism and migration.
A White House statement said that President Barack Obama extended condolences to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for victims of recent terrorist attacks in Turkey, reaffirming support for Turkey’s security and both countries' "mutual struggle against terrorism".
Erdogan and Obama also discussed how to advance shared efforts to eliminate the ISIS militant group during the 50-minute talk.
The Turkish president is expected to hold separate bilateral meetings with other world leaders, his office said.
