Nigerian army battling Boko Haram terrorists in Borno State

Abuja (IINA) – The Nigerian military troops are currently engaging in a fierce battle with members of Boko Haram terrorist group in Borno State, Nigeria’s northeast region, Nigerian TV channels reported.
The terrorists launched an attack on troops of 113 Battalion at Kareto, northern Borno State, said a statement issued by Acting Director of Army Public Relations Col. Sani Usman.
The statement added that the troops have been battling the insurgents since the early hours of Monday.
The military had on Sunday announced its discovery of a large cache of arms and ammunition concealed by Boko Haram terrorists in Borgozo-Alargano area of Borno State. Troops of Operation Lafiya Dole and some Civilian Joint Task Force made the discovery during a clearance patrol by the troops following a tip off.
