Riyadh, (IINA) - The Charity Center for Caring for the Holy Qur’an in Al-Kharj, 60 km from Riyadh, has restored more than 40,000 used copies of the Holy Qur’an for distribution in the past month, Arab News reported.
Director of the Center Mohamed Al- Harbi gave the statistics during the recent visit of Riyadh Governor Prince Faisal bin Bandar to the center.
The governor made a familiarization tour of the complex where the copies of used Holy Qur’an are restored and redistributed to countries at request.
Al-Harbi said the center has a stock of 2 million copies kept for restoration. He told Prince Faisal that the center had been using the latest techniques of restoration which include spine repairs.
The center has 18 permanent workers and 200 unpaid volunteers. It receives requests for copies of the Holy Qur’an from more than 60 countries, the director said, pointing out that under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, Saudi missions abroad are cooperating with the center in distributing copies to those who request them.
On his part, Prince Faisal congratulated the officials of the center and others who were involved in the successful implementation of the project.
