Cairo (IINA) – Egypt and France will sign about 30 agreements during French President Francois Hollande's visit to the Arab country, slated for April 17, France's ambassador to Egypt said on Sunday.
Hollande's visit to Egypt comes at the invitation of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. Ambassador Andre Parant told a press conference on Sunday that a delegation of French businessmen will accompany Hollande during his visit to Egypt.  He said the military cooperation will be among the topics to be discussed during the visit.
The ambassador pointed out that the two countries seek to encourage French tourists to visit Egypt and there is interest from both sides to support Egyptian tourism through potential tourism projects.
“There is a desire from both two countries to develop the French investments in Egypt in the coming period,” Parant said, adding: “The trade exchange between Egypt and France currently amounts to 2.5 billion euros annually.”
It is to be noted that last October, Egypt signed a deal with France worth 950 million euros to buy two Mistral helicopter carriers.
The French envoy said that the delivery of the helicopter carriers will take place between July and September.
