UN envoy for Yemen announces ceasefire, resumption of peace talks in April

New York (IINA) – UN Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed on Wednesday announced a nation-wide ceasefire starting from April 10, ahead of a new round of peace talks to be held in Kuwait on April 18.
The UN envoy told reporters at a press conference here  that following “extensive” consultations with Yemeni leaders and regional partners, parties to the conflict have agreed to a nation-wide cessation of hostilities beginning at midnight on April 10, ahead of the upcoming round of peace talks, scheduled to take place in Kuwait on April 18.
