New York, (IINA) - UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon condemned Monday’s terrorist attacks that were carried out on police and army posts in the town of Ben Guerdane in Tunisia.
“He expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims as well as to the people and government of Tunisia and wishes a speedy recovery to those injured”, his spokesperson said in a statement.
“The secretary general reiterates the commitment of the United Nations to stand with the people of Tunisia as they confront the scourge of terrorism and work to preserve the gains of the revolution”.
Media reports say several dozen people were killed in the attacks in Ben Guerdane, which is located near the Libyan border.
