Pakistan releases 86 Indian fishermen in goodwill gesture

Islamabad, (IINA) - Pakistan announced on Sunday that it had released 86 Indian fishermen who were arrested for trespassing into its territorial waters; the second such batch freed this month in a goodwill gesture, WAM reported.
The 86 fishermen freed from the Malir jail in Karachi will travel to Lahore by train and will be handed over to Indian authorities at the Wagah border, Superintendent of Karachi's Malir prison Raja Mumtaz told PTI.
It is the second time this month that the government has released Indian fishermen in a goodwill gesture.
On March 6, the Pakistani authorities released another 86 Indian fishermen and a civilian who were in Landhi jail.
Mumtaz added that there are 363 Indian fishermen currently held in Pakistani jails.
