Damascus, (IINA) - A UK-based monitoring group stated on Monday that at least 64 people were killed in Syria since last week’s cessation of hostilities agreement between the Syrian regime and opposition forces, Anadolu Agency reported.
In a statement, the Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) said it documented 312 violations since the deal came into effect on February 27.
According to the statement, regime forces killed two opposition figures Sunday, taking the tally which includes civilians as well to 64 people since the temporary deal.
Syria has been locked in a vicious civil war since early 2011 when the Bashar Al-Assad’s regime cracked down on pro-democracy protests with unexpected ferocity. Since then, more than 250,000 people have been killed and more than 10 million displaced, according to UN figures.
Last week, the U.S and Russia brokered a two-week agreement to cease hostilities between the Syrian regime and opposition forces.
