Kabul (IINA) – At least 10 people were killed and 29 others wounded on Monday after a Taliban suicide bomber, who joined a queue at the gate of an Afghan police station in Kabul, blew himself up, Reuters reported citing an Interior Ministry's statement.
The attacker targeted a queue of young people waiting to enter the police building in the crowded Dehmazang district, west of the capital Kabul.
In a separate statement, the NATO mission in Afghanistan condemned the attack, which it said killed 20 police officers and wounded 25 others as well as seven Afghan civilians.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement that said 40 police officers had been killed or wounded. The group often makes exaggerated casualty claims for its attacks.
