Jeddah (IINA) – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned in the strongest terms Saturday's attack by Boko Haram terrorist group on Dalori village on the outskirts of Maiduguri in northeastern Nigeria, claiming the lives of 92 innocent people and wounding 136 others, while some victims were burned alive in the village that was set on fire.
OIC Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani expressed his solidarity with the Nigerian government in its sustained fight against the extremist group Boko Haram and conveyed his condolences to the government and people of Nigeria as well as to the families of the victims of this obnoxious incident. He also wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
The Secretary General reiterated the OIC's principled position against all forms of terrorism and extremism, which pose a major threat to all its member states and international peace and security. In this regard, he welcomed the outcome of the international donors’ conference held on Monday at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa, where an amount of $250 million was pledged to finance the operations of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) established by countries in the Lake Chad region to combat the violent activities of Boko Haram terrorist group.
