Jordan's king, British FM discuss Syrian crisis

Amman, (IINA) - Jordanian King Abdullah met here on Monday with British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Philip Hammond. During the meeting at Al Husseiniya Palace, the King highlighted the importance of London conference for donors this week, in helping Jordan to grapple with burdens arising from the Syrian refugee crisis, and support development projects in the Kingdom, Petra reported.
The King appreciated the assistance provided by the United Kingdom in this regard.
The meeting also touched on efforts to counter-terrorism in the Middle East, Africa and the world through a holistic approach as well as the latest regional and international developments, mainly the crisis in Syria and efforts to find a political solution to this issue.
From his part, Hammond voiced his country's desire to help Jordan to deal with the Syrian crisis, stressing that the London conference is an opportunity to help the Kingdom in this regard.
The Royal Court chief, the foreign minister, the director of the King’s Office and the British ambassador in Amman attended the meeting.
