Egypt's el-Sisi begins Asia tour with Kazakhstan visit

Astana (IINA) – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi arrived Friday in the Kazakh capital Astana on a visit to Kazakhstan, as part of an Asian tour that includes Japan and South Korea as well, news agencies reported.
The Egyptian President's visit to Kazakhstan is expected to give a new momentum to the Kazakh-Egyptian cooperation.
The two sides are expected to pay utmost attention to the problems of Kazakhstan-Egypt commercial and economic, agricultural and pharmaceutical, transport and logistics cooperation during the bilateral negotiations, according to the Press Service of Akorda.
President el-Sisi will meet with his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev and Prime Minister Karim Massimov to discuss the mutual ties and ways of enhancing them in various fields. They will also address a number of regional and international issues, including ways to confront terrorism.
Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported that el-Sisi will give a speech in Nazarbayev University in Kazakhstan, on the economic and political developments that Egypt has witnessed in the recent years.
Following his visit to Kazakhstan, el-Sisi will head to Japan where he will meet Japanese Emperor Akihito and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. The two sides will exchange views on how to enforce political and economic cooperation between their countries.
The Egyptian President will end his Asian tour in South Korea where he will meet his Korean counterpart Park Geun-hye and Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn, as well as Parliamentary Speaker Chung Ui-hwa. El-Sisi will also meet representatives and CEOs of Korean corporations, and will attend a meeting of the Egyptian-Korean Business Council.
