OIC chief condemns Istanbul's terrorist attack

Jeddah (IINA) – Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Ameen Madani condemned the Tuesday's deadly explosion in the Sultanahmet District of Istanbul, Turkey, that resulted in the killing of at least 10 people and wounding scores of others. He described it as an act of terror.
The Secretary General expressed his confidence that the perpetrators of such senseless brutality will be apprehended, tried and prosecuted for their crimes.
Madani conveyed his condolences to the government and people of Turkey as well as to the families of the victims of this tragedy. He expressed the OIC's support for the efforts of the Turkish government in its endeavors to fight terrorism.
He further reiterated the principled position of the OIC that vigorously denounces all acts of terrorism and violent extremism in all forms and manifestations, just as it categorically rejects any justifications for terrorism.
