OIC, Arab League chiefs discuss bilateral cooperation

Cairo, (IINA) - Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary General Iyad Madani has met with Arab League Secretary General Nabil El-Araby during his visit to Egypt on Sunday. The two leaders discussed ways of enhancing joint cooperation between the two bodies, news agencies reported.
According to Qatar News Agency, the two sides discussed means to develop bilateral cooperation in different aspects, coordination of efforts on dealing with the current issues, particularly in regard to supporting the Palestinian cause and providing protection to the Palestinian people in addition to supporting the efforts of political solution to the crises in Syria, Yemen and Libya.
They also discussed means to address the repercussions of the dangerous phenomenon of terrorism and extremist ideas, which threaten many Arab and Islamic countries, in addition to responding to Western accusations that attaches to this phenomenon to Arabs and Muslims.
Egyptian news website Al-Bawaba reported that the meeting was held at Ritz-Carlton Hotel in the Tahrir Square. It is noteworthy that Madani arrived in Cairo for a two-day visit, where he is scheduled to meet a number of senior Egyptian officials, including Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry.
