Dhaka, (IINA) - UAE Ambassador to Bangladesh Saeed Al-Shehi has inaugurated fourth consular section and visa issuance center outside UAE in a ceremony in the Bangladeshi capital city of Dhaka, WAM reported.
In his opening remarks, the UAE ambassador highlighted his government's efforts to develop bilateral ties, adding that the inauguration of the center was a historic milestone in the UAE-Bangladesh ties.
Ahmed Al-Dhaheri, assistant undersecretary for consular affairs, said that the new visa center will be able to serve more than 600 people daily, noting that it uses passport authentication and biometrics such as fingerprints, eye prints, and face prints.
He also pointed out that medical tests for applicants will be conducted at 34 Bangladeshi centers accredited by the UAE Ministry of Health, in order to identify and prevent entry of individuals with contagious diseases.
He added that the procedures will save costs of recruitment, quarantine, and deportation and improve customer service as they are aimed at providing excellent consular services fulfilling internationally recognized standards as well as the Cabinet's seven-star service standards.
