UAE investor to build solar power plant in South Kazakhstan

Astana (IINA) - Beibut Atamkulov, head of South Kazakhstan region and Hassan Al Shaban, an investor from the United Arab Emirates, signed an agreement regarding the construction of a solar power plant, according to a press statement from the regional administration office.
The plant will be built in the region by the time of the international exhibition EXPO-2017. Its capacity will be 100 MW. The governor of the region has promised investor all assistance as this project is extremely important for the region.
On his part, Al Shaban said that the region is very attractive for doing business. According to the agreement, the investor will spend 35 billion tenge for the construction of the solar power plant. It is expected that the new project will provide 50 permanent jobs for local residents. The South Kazakhstan region's administration plans to allocate a site of 230 hectares in Baidibek area.
It is noted that the UAE investor is interested in creating camel farms in the territory of the South Kazakhstan region.
