ISESCO General Conference concludes in Baku

Baku (IINA) – The 12th session of the General Conference of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) concluded in the Azeri capital of Baku on Friday, AZERNEWS reported.
Azerbaijan was elected to replace Saudi Arabia in assuming the ISESCO General Conference presidency for the next three years.
A new logo of ISESCO has been presented during the session. The logo was launched in a ceremony witnessed by ISESCO Director General Dr Abdulaziz Altwaijri, Chairman of the Executive Council of ISESCO Boubacar Doukoure and Azeri Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev.
Azerbaijan's Minister of Youth and Sport Azad Rahimov made a presentation on the fourth Islamic Solidarity Games to be held in Baku in 2017, saying that the organizing committee, set up in accordance with President Ilham Aliyev's relevant order, will embark on preparation for the games.
In turn, Dr Altwaijri said the Organization would give its contributions and support to the Islamic Solidarity Games.
The meeting also adopted an Action Plan resolution for the upcoming three years, and the ISESCO 12th General Conference report.
The 12th ISESCO General Conference and the 36th session of the Executive Council held in Baku on November 23-27 to discuss the organization’s activities and financial issues, among others.
