Bahrain elected as vice president of Arab world's educational conference

Cairo (IINA) – Bahrain was unanimously elected by the Arab countries as Vice President of the Conference of the Ministers Responsible for Higher Education and Academic Research in the Arab world, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.
Bahraini Education Minister Dr Majid Al-Nuaimi, who is also the President of Bahrain’s Higher Education Council, led his country's delegation to the 15th conference of the Arab ministers responsible for higher education and academic research that convened in Cairo under the patronage of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
At the opening session, Director General of the Arab League's Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) Dr Abdullah Muhareb praised Bahrain's positive response to the organization and its implementation of the recommendations of the previous conference.
On his part, Dr Al-Nuaimi pointed out the need to develop the educational sector and academic research in the Arab world according to global developments.
The conference shed light on many issues including the diversification of funding resources of higher education and scientific researches in the Arab countries, exchanging expertise in funding governance, developing digital education programs.
Participants in the conference also condemned the Israeli violations against the Palestinian university campuses and schools.
