Ramallah, (IINA) - The Israeli army on Saturday shut down Al-Khalil radio station in the city of Hebron for a period of six months under the pretext that it incites violence, WAFA reported.
In a press statement, Secretary General of the Palestinian Cabinet Ali Abu Diak condemned the raid and attack on the radio station by Israeli forces, stressing that such measure comes as part of Israel’s persistent violations of international law.
Abu Diak described this Israeli action as an attempt to hide the truth behind the continuous heinous crimes it commits against the Palestinian people, pointing out that Israel’s shutdown of the station is a blatant attack on the freedom of media and press.
He stressed that the international community and all relevant international organizations as well as regional ones must shoulder their responsibilities and speak out in order to rein in the Israeli terrorism, extremism, and systematic crimes committed against the Palestinian people and media organizations.
He further reiterated the Palestinian government’s call for the world countries to support the Palestinian people in their struggle to gain the right to self-determination, to end the occupation, and to establish their independent state, with Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international law and principals of the international legitimacy. He further urged to bring all perpetrators of Israeli war crimes to justice.
