Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

San Antonio (IINA) - The San Antonio chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-San Antonio) in a statement on Friday called for stepped-up security by local police after a man trespassed at the Islamic Center of San Antonio, cursing worshipers about their religion.
Following the incident, a school associated with the mosque cancelled classes for the rest of the week as they review safety measures. The intruder was arrested and charged with criminal trespassing on private property.
“We urge local law enforcement authorities to step up patrols in the area of the mosque and to meet with Muslim community leaders to discuss enhancing security measures,” said CAIR-San Antonio President Sarwat Husain.
Husain said the incident is just part of a backlash against the American Muslim community since the recent terror attacks in Paris.
It is noteworthy that CAIR is America's largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
