Jerusalem, (IINA) - A recent Israeli poll showed that the majority of Israelis support killing of Palestinians on the spot if they are suspected of carrying out an attack.
The poll showed that 53 percent of Jewish respondents to the "Peace Index" poll, conducted by "The Israel Democracy Institute" in cooperation with the University of Tel Aviv, believe that killing a Palestinian who carried out an attack operation is a must, even if he is under arrest and does not pose any danger.
The poll uncovered that 79.5 percent of Jewish respondents support the punitive demolition of the houses of the families of Palestinians who resulted in killing Israelis, but only around 41 percent supported demolishing the houses of Jews who carried out attacks that claimed Palestinian lives.
When asked about their position on conducting peace talks between Israel and Palestine, 60 percent of Arabs answered that they are strongly in favor of holding the talks, compared to only 26 percent of Jews who said they are strongly in favor.
The poll also showed that 24.2 percent of Jews were afraid that either they or a member of their community would be harmed in the current events, compared to 66.1 percent of Arabs.
