Jerusalem, (IINA) - A young Palestinian man was shot dead by Israeli forces on Saturday outside the Old City of Jerusalem, WAFA reported citing local sources.
Witnesses said that Israeli forces shot some 10 bullets at point blank range on the 19-year-old Fadi Alloun on the outskirts of Jerusalem.
Later that day, a video circulated on social media showing the moment at which Alloun was shot at, Alloun was trying to escape a large group of Jewish settlers who encircled him and shouted racist slogans at him, when he tried to flee, an Israeli officer shot him 10 times, killing him instantly. The video also showed that settlers assaulted Alloun's body and chanted anti-Arab slogans.
On a related context, another 19-year-old Palestinian man was shot dead after he stabbed and killed two Jewish extremists in Jerusalem's Old City.
The two incidents came amid rising tensions across the West Bank as well as in Jerusalem, which was prompted by Israeli government's and Jewish attempts to divide Al-Aqsa Mosque compound between Muslims and Jews.
This also came as Israeli forces continued to impose tightened restrictions on Palestinians’ entry into Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
Israeli forces continued to ban Palestinians under the age of 50 from entering the Mosque compound, forcing them to pray in the streets of the city.
