Turkish envoy at OIC pledges support for IINA

Jeddah, (IINA) - The Director General of the International Islamic News Agency Ali Ahmad Al-Ghamdi met on Sunday with the Turkish Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ambassador Salih Mutlu Shan.
At the meeting, IINA Chief briefed Ambassador Mutlu Shan about IINA’s activities, publications and reports covering Islamic World issues as well as the development phase that IINA has gone through in light of the study of the restructuring process that adopted by the Islamic Conference of Information Ministers.
For his part, the Turkish Ambassador expressed his country's keenness to enhance cooperation between Turkey and IINA as Turkey considers IINA as a platform for joint Islamic media work, and to facilitatite IINA official's visit to Turkish Republic of Cyprus. The ambassador pledged to get in touch with relevant Turkish official news agencies to look into possiblities of comprehensive reporting sources and contacts.
The meeting also highlighted the role of IINA in covering international events hosted by Turkey over the coming period, including the 13th Islamic Summit, and the summit of Islamophobia as well as other international conferences.
Both sides discussed the importance of enhancing cooperation between IINA and Turkey, which is a member of the IINA Executive Council, through the Anatolia news agency and other Turkish media channels.
The meeting was held at the IINA headquarters in the presence of heads of departments.
