Russia keen to increase investments in Sudan

Khartoum (IINA) – The Russian Gazprombank (GPB) group expressed desire to increase its investments in Sudan by utilizing Sudan’s strategic position and tremendous natural resources, Sudan News Agency (SUNA) reported.
During his meeting here with Head of Mineral Development Section at GPB group Alexander Smirnov on Wednesday, Sudanese Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Badr-Eddin Mahmoud unveiled Sudan's move towards BRICS group which includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa to consolidate economic cooperation and exchange of benefits with the group’s member states. He also described the GPB group as Sudan's new strategic partner.
For his part, Smirnov affirmed the group’s desire to increase its investments in areas of petroleum, gas, minerals, agriculture and services in Sudan.
