Jeddah (IINA) – Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Ameen Madani has strongly condemned intrusion of the Israeli occupation of Al-Aqsa Mosque and its assault on worshipers inside Al-Aqsa compound.
Madani said that this act constitutes a continuation of the crimes and terrorism that have been perpetrated by Israel in order to enforce the Israeli aspirations of temporal and spatial division of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
He called upon the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to seriously act in order to put an end to these repeated Israeli aggressions and provide protection for the Palestinian people and their holy places.
The Secretary General stressed the need not to turn a blind eye to Israeli crimes in the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and which will, eventually, fuel violence and tension in the region and the whole world. He added that this dangerous escalation in Israeli assaults would be included on the agenda of the coordination meeting of Foreign Ministers of OIC member states, to be held in New York at the end of this month.
