Makkah tragedy: Condolences pour in from around the world

Jeddah (IINA) - Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman received telephone calls and cables from several world leaders expressing deep sorrow over the massive crane crash that killed at least 107 people and 238 injured on Friday evening. They offered condolences to the Saudi leadership as well as to the bereaved family members of those died in the accident. They wished speedy recovery for those injured in the accident.
The leaders included Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, King Mohammed VI of Morocco, Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and Bahrain’s King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa. Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad Amin Madani, Arab League Secretary General Nabil Elaraby, and Sheikh of Al-Azhar Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb are also among the leaders who offered condolences.
US State Secretary John Kerry also expressed deep sorrow and offered condolences. “We offer condolences to Saudi Arabia over the crane crash tragedy,” spokesman of the State Department said in a statement.
