Arakan (IINA) – Kuwaiti Relief Campaign for Rohingya in Malaysia concluded its works on Wednesday, after the distribution of 500 food baskets, benefiting nearly 15,000 refugees who undertook the journey to the Malaysian state of Penang, fleeing persecution in Myanmar.
"The relief program also included distribution of food aid to the poor Malaysians in the state of Penang and the School of Holy Qur'an Memorization, in addition to providing financial aid to some needy people," Jinan Badr, head of the campaign, was quoted by Arakan News Agency as saying.
It is worth mentioning that the Kuwaiti Rohingya Relief Campaign was launched last Sunday, aiming at providing food aid to 1,500 Rohingya refugee families who made it to Malaysia.
