Jerusalem, (IINA) - Israeli occupation forces demolished five Palestinian-owned stores on Sunday in the town of Hezma, northeast of Jerusalem, WAFA reported citing local sources.
The Israeli forces broke into the town and demolished five stores under the pretext of construction without a permit, and such vandalizing actions under the same pretext have been repeated on several occasions by the Israeli forces.
Palestinians in the West Bank are rarely granted construction permits by the Israeli Occupation Authorities, despite filing the correct applications and following legal measures.
Such discrimination against Palestinians happen in all aspects of life, such as housing, employment and services, and they remain unable to access basic services in the West Bank due to the construction of Israel's separation wall.
It is noteworthy that the UN office for Coordination of Humanitarian (OCHA) reported that in 2014 alone, Israeli authorities demolished 97 buildings in East Jerusalem, and demolished five others in 2015, under the pretext of building without a construction permit.
